Day 1 - Genesis 1-3 (Creation)

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. … Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; …  So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”  (Genesis 1:1, 26, 27)

The Bible says that God created the universe as it exist today in six days, not as a product of chance and evolution as many claim.  The Bible also says that God created the first man and woman in His own image meaning we are not like animals nor did we evolve from animals.

Sadly, many, even those who claim to be Christians and believers in God, believe in the big lie of evolution.  I went to the most prestigious Catholic schools from first grade all the way till college and we were taught life basically evolved from non-life or matter.  If that’s what is taught about the origin of life in Catholic schools, we should not be surprised that public schools all around the world teach the same.  Congratulations Charles Darwin for a resounding success!

Truth, however, is not determined by the majority public opinion but rather by proof or evidence.  There is not a single verifiable evidence regarding the theory of evolution and yet the evidence of creation is all around us and cannot and will not be ignored.

The most compelling evidence of the truth of creation is the Bible.  The Bible was written over a period of roughly 2,000 years by 40 different authors from three continents, who wrote in three different languages and yet it claims absolute authority and accuracy in all of its content!  Many prominent opponents of Scripture attempted to disprove it and ended believing and embracing it as the inspired Word of God.

The strongest proof that I hold, though, is the testimony of Jesus Christ Himself who validated the whole Old Testament from Genesis to Malachi as the Word of God:

“I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.”  (Matthew 5:18)

I praise You and thank You God for giving us your Word, the Bible, so that we may know the truth and discern all lies.  Help me to understand your Word as I make it my daily bread as you commanded.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
